The Family Dinner Project in Indiana, an initiative of the Center for Families, earned three Central Region awards at the 2026 NEAFCS Annual Session. The honors recognize work by Extension educators and community partners that turns research on family meals into stronger relationships, better health and connected communities.

MFRI Releases Final Measuring Communities Report and Opens Applications for Data Champions Program
MFRI has released the final report of its three-year Measuring Communities reporting cycle, providing a comprehensive national snapshot of military and veteran family well-being. Alongside the report, MFRI launched the Data Champions application, inviting organizations to leverage community data to inform programs, policies and funding decisions that support military-connected populations. Measuring Communities combines data from more than 30 sources to help leaders identify trends, needs and opportunities across communities nationwide.
