Throughout the 30th anniversary year, the Center for Families has been working with our faculty partners and council members to explore ideas and partnerships that will last beyond a celebration and continue to strengthen research about families throughout Purdue University.

Xinran Lehto – This study examines how multidimensional food experiences shape tourists’ perceptions of destination brand images, focusing on Cairo, Egypt. Using a survey of international tourists, the study assesses the impact of sensory, intellectual, affective, and behavioural food experiences.

CFF SPEAKER SERIES On April 8, Kanter Award Winner Dr. Julie Holliday Wayne brings her research that draws on five different studies to conceptualize and operationalize “invisible family load”, and it provides a new, robust, and well-validated measure of that work.

Ellen Kossek – With high-profile return-to-office (RTO) pushes in both the private sector and federal government, some leaders critical of hybrid and remote work are again pushing the narrative that flexibility creates a trade-off between employee wellbeing and organizational productivity.

CFF SPEAKER SERIES Open to all Purdue University faculty and staff, this March 28 panel will provide insights into the diverse caregiving challenges faced by faculty, post docs, and graduate students. Building on the National Academies’ 2024 report, Supporting Family Caregivers in STEMM: A Call to Action, this in-person event will explore innovative strategies for fostering more inclusive academic environments.

Nasreen Lalani – Globally, end-of-life care is vital for individuals in their final months or years, emphasizing comfort and dignity. However, the provision of palliative care in low-resource countries, such as Ghana, remains inadequately documented and poorly understood.
